Montalcino

The Farmhouse

Piancornello is an old rural house dating back to the 1700s and immersed in the pristine nature of Montalcino, among centuries-old olive groves and Brunello vineyards.
Giving right onto a breath-taking view of Val d'Orcia and Mount Amiata, which dominates the valley, it is the ideal location for all of those who love holidays in contact with nature, with endless possibilities of taking long walks or going on mountain-bike excursions in the vast countryside.
The equestrian centre of Montalcino, with which special agreements for horse-riding guided tours along the valley are in place, is at about 500 metres from the farmhouse.

Moreover, Piancornello is located in proximity of several historical destinations:
from the abbey of Sant’Antimo, that dates back to 800 AD, and which can also be reached following a footpath that crosses the countryside, to the perfectly preserved medieval villages of Sant’Angelo In Colle and Castelnuovo Dell'Abate.
Montalcino, Pienza, Siena and the numerous castles from the period of the Aldobrandeschi and Sforza families (13th century) nestled on Mount Amiata are just a short drive away. A trip to the seaside or to the thermal baths in Bagno Vignoni or Saturnia is also possible.
Built under the old vaults of the farmhouse, all rooms have been recently refurbished according to the traditional Tuscan style and feature air conditioning and wifi.
Breakfast with homemade cakes, cold meat and fruit is included in the price.
